About SDHQ Racing
SERENA PRUETT
Serena was born and raised in Chandler, AZ, where her parents kickstarted her need for speed with their drag racing hobby. Growing up, everything had go fast. One year for Christmas, she received a go kart with a 5 hp Briggs and Stratton motor that she and her father converted over to methanol and would do 60 miles an hour.
Racing comes with the territory – she started in a Yamaha Rhino in 2005, moved on to a 5-1600 car , and has now co-driven trophy trucks within the SCORE series.
SDHQ was a natural fit for her, and she has been with the company since 2005. She’s currently the operations manager. Co-workers at SDHQ joke that Serena has forgotten more about the offroad industry, than most will ever know.
Her hobbies outside of racing include going to the dunes, riding dirt bikes, and going camping to stretch the legs on her Can Am X3.
KIRSTIN BACKES
Kirstin is from Riverside, CA, and now resides in the Memphis, TN area.
Her dad raced baja, and her mom drove his chase truck, so she comes by racing naturally. Kirstin started out with drag racing, but dove into the offroad world several years ago and hasn’t looked back.
Kirstin has built a sales and marketing career in the aftermarket for over a decade, and worked with some of the biggest brands in the performance market. She currently works for COBB Tuning in sales and marketing.
As an avid outdoorswoman, she spends her vacation time wheeling and camping all over the southwest. Based on the current trends, you might call this overlanding, but she’s reluctant to do that – even for the ‘gram.
